You can uninstall Homebrew, the package manager, with following steps:

cd `brew --prefix`
rm -rf Cellar
brew prune
rm -rf Library .git .gitignore bin/brew README.md share/man/man1/brew
rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/Homebrew

Debian can not restart/reboot properly on Acer Aspire One D257

NITDroid installation

I'm disappointed that NOKIA announced they will use WM for their new N9 series phone, and that makes me wanting to give up Maemo.

I've used iPhone before. Its a good experience to use a smart phone. But it is too expensive for me. So, I want to migrate to Android based.

For some reasons:

Android had good integration with Google services, that's helpful to me.
Android also has lots of applications on AppMarket.
Android based phone is cheaper than iPhone.

So, I tried to install NITDroid on my NOKIA N900.

I want to thanks to the NITDroid project! Its very easy to install NITDroid on NOKIA N900 for now. The following is the notes I've been tried.

Preparing a microSD card, and 2G size is recommended.
Add a repo: extra-devel on Maemo's application manager.
Install a package named nitdroid-installer on Maemo.
Click the Application icon or run 'nitdroid' with superuser for automatic installation.
After the installation, reboot the phone to entering the Android world! (Its version is v2.3 now)

You will see a wizard guiding you to finish the initialization for the first time. You can finish it quickly and easily with a Google account.

Well, I reinstalled NITDroid several times. And I got some ideas with it.

NITDroid runs smoothly on N900.
Its wasting power that runs with WiFi.
Hardware support is not completed, and 3G data/phone is not works now.

What a pitty!

I hope I can use Android with N900 in the near future!

LibreOffice installation with PPA on Ubuntu

I love to use LibreOffice on my linux desktop, so I always replace OpenOffice.org with LibreOffice when the desktop was newly installed.

Nowadays, if we want to use LaTeX, we have to install the texlive package for it. And it is very easy to install all of those needed packages on Archlinux.

NOKIA N900 upgrade

There are 3 ways to upgrade your N900.

OTA
Over The Air. YES! Upgrade your phone online. Its easily but might cause problems after OTA.
PC suite
Use NOKIA OVI suite or NOKIA Software Updater. Upgrade your phone with PC suite and backup your file before you starting.
That's the safest way to upgrade your N900! But all chinese support will be lost after upgraded.
Rewrite with flasher
Get the flasher with latest ROM file. Rewrite the ROM with latest version. You don't have to rewrite eMMC content unless the system crashed.
Besides, if you've been upgrade your phone but ran into some problems, you'd better rewrite your ROM again with the same version. All chinese support also will be lost after upgraded.

You can easily done with above way for upgrading.

Chinese font can not be show correctly with JAVA application on FreeBSD

I ran into this problem as I installed the freemind.

After searching with Google, the following steps can solve the problem.

Create a directory named "fallback" in JRE path
# cd /usr/local/jdk1.6.0/jre/lib/fonts
# mkdir fallback
Link a TrueType that I wanted to the new directory
# cd fallback/
# ln -s /usr/local/lib/X11/fonts/TrueType/bsmi001p.ttf ./bsmi001p.ttf
Restart the JAVA application

After restarting, the JAVA application will show chinese font properly.

Homebrew - Another package manager for Mac OS X

前陣子在 plurk 上看到 Rex 大提到 Homebrew，一開始也不曉得那是什麼? 慢慢才知道原來是另一種套件管理工具。

今天在看到 ihower 大大的 blog 文章後，索性就動起來手來，先把 MacPorts uninstall 掉，然後再依照 ihower 大大提供的步驟把 homebrew 裝了起來。(作法請參考 ihower 大大的原文)

Homebrew 是一套 ruby based 的套件管理程式，它的特性如下﹕

不佔用系統空間
不重覆安裝 mac 系統中已內建的工具
ruby based 的 portfile，易於修改、自訂
使用者可很快的建立自己想要的套件

個人用了之後，覺得 MacPorts 更新較快、內容較多，但，Homebrew 則是標榜不重覆，簡易使用。

果真簡易!

CU: Serial terminal emulator

cu，個人覺得是一個簡單、方便的 serial console 連線工具。

第一次看到是在 debian 上，透過 apt-cache search 找到的工具，裝好就可以用了。後來，在 OpenBSD 上就沒找到 cu。一度以為沒有這個工具，也試著想找它的 source code 來在 OpenBSD 上自編譯、使用未果。

這幾天在試玩新的 OpenBSD 4.8 時，才發現原來早就內建在系統中，我真是後知後覺啊!! orz

國小母校

我的國小母校，桃園縣立成功國小，一所建立幾十年的老學校，據說在日據時代就已存在了。我媽、我老姐、我老婆和我都是校友!

雖然離家裡很近，但畢業後 2x 年都沒回去過幾次! 但，在小朋友二歲多的今天 (2010/8/28)，跟老婆心血來潮，一起帶著小孩再度重回母校，看看 2x 年後的校園有了哪些改變!

進了校門後，我不自覺的將牽著的老婆的手握得更緊。一家人緩緩的進行校園巡禮後，我發現除了活動中心和行政大樓還在之外，其它的教舍都不復當年了! (OS: 2x 年不變的學校，很難吧!)

我還依稀記得當年的動物園座落在校園的哪個角落! 我還得當時蒸便當的位置在哪裡! 我還記得大象溜滑梯在哪棟大樓的後面! 我還記得賣著好吃的千力麵和涼麵的福利社，擠得水洩不通的樣子!

伴著垃圾場惡臭的側門外，有一個小雜貨店已不復存在! 揚著黃沙的操場已被 PU 跑道和場地取代! 第二排及第三排教舍已變成一片小朋友的樂園，滿是遊樂設施!

啊! 那個水泥做的斑馬還在! 只是少了支耳朵。水泥做的獅子也還在，只是不復當年的威風! 花豹和小鹿斑駁不堪! 大概只有駱駝才可以和斑馬一樣，清晰可辨!

我想，當年的班導師應該都退休了吧? 幾個曾經帶個的班導師，都讓我留下深刻的印象! 我老婆訝異著她早已忘懷多時的事物，我竟一路一一描述著當年的狀況! 或許，這是我少少的長處之一吧!

短短的 1.5 個小時，卻像是走回時光隧道那般的回味無窮! 我想我以後會常帶小朋友回來這裡走走，到操場跑跑，在他的童年裡回味著自己的童年!

順著天賦做事，逆著個性做人

我是個很幸運的人，因為我經常遇到貴人，不管這些貴人們曾經如何對我，我總能直接或間接的從他們身上汲取到一些經驗! 對此，我也由衷的感謝! 當然，標題的這句話也是從貴人們身上獲得的寶貴經驗!

最近我常會想起這句話，"順著天賦做事，逆著個性做人"，從字面上解釋，就是發揮自己的長才，修飾或隱藏自己在個性上的缺點，使得為人處事都能圓滿! 或許會有人說，那不就是偽裝? 虛偽? 其實不盡然。

舉例來說，我的專長就是溝通，所以，我就應該好好發揮這個長處，使得人、事、物得以透過溝通、協調進而圓滿! 這就是 "順著天賦做事"!

而我的個性其實很懶散，從小被管到大的我，很討厭被約束，我也很討厭去約束別人! 因為 "己所不欲，勿施於人"! 但，當我的工作付予任務，即時有千百個不願意，為了工作，為了群體利益，我就會壓抑著自己在個性上的特質，想辦法去完成任務! 這就是 "逆著個性做人"!

當然，有人曾經問我，"何苦來哉? 這樣對待自己能有什麼好處?" 剛開始我總會試著去說明，後來就只是笑著不回應了。乍看之下，這樣做的確對自己沒什麼好處，做得汗流浹背，別人嫌到口水亂噴!

我的理由如下:

對自己負責，也對工作有交待，心安理得。
如果事情能順利做完，也對群體有正面的助益，雖然知道會很苦，何不試著樂觀面對? 做起來也開心。
有些事，在當下會很苦、很難熬! 但，咬牙撑過後，反而會有一番不同的感受，結果，我又成長了。

過往的歷練也驗證了這句話的價值! 我因為這句話，受益不少! 至少，當別人在批評草莓世代時，我很慶幸自己的抗壓性在不同階段都能每況愈上! 只是我還是沒有做得很好! 至少，目前還是! 還需要多努力、多加油!

謹以此文引以為愓!

The power of Intel Quad core * 2 + FreeBSD 8 amd64

因工作上的需求，我必須處理 Subversion 因為 svn blame 造成的高系統負載問題。

作業環境如下:

FreeBSD 7.2
Apache 2.x
Subversion 1.x
viewvc 1.x

在原來的硬體環境:

CPU: Intel Xeon 3.06 GHz with HT
RAM: 2GB
HDD: SCSI

FreeBSD/SMP: Multiprocessor System Detected: 4 CPUs
cpu0 (BSP): APIC ID: 0
cpu1 (AP/HT): APIC ID: 1
cpu2 (AP): APIC ID: 6
cpu3 (AP/HT): APIC ID: 7

一旦使用者透過 viewvc 執行 annotate 的工作，只要一個! 且單一檔案內容超過萬行的情況下，就會造成系統高負載 (average load 破百) 的情況，最嚴重的狀況是連 console 操作都會 hang 住! 而且 httpd 和 svn 的 process 數量也 fork 很多出來!

深究其因，應該是 viewvc 造成的! 其次，CPU 僅是透過 HT 虛擬成 4 個 cpu，而並非真正 multiple core，因此運算能力也相對較弱!

以提供服務的角度來看，這個功能是使用者經常用到的! 因此，除了去 trace viewvc 外，唯一可解的就是硬體升級了!

新的硬體環境:

CPU: Intel Xeon E5420 2.5 GHz
RAM: 48 GB
HDD: SAS

FreeBSD/SMP: Multiprocessor System Detected: 8 CPUs

OS 改用 FreeBSD 8 amd64 的版本，將 /tmp 透過 md 掛載大小為 18G 的 memory disk 上，其它軟體套件則依舊一樣 (但版本較新)，並套用相同的環境設定!

以一個連線進行 annotate，load average 落在 1.x 左右，以 top 看則只有其中一顆 cpu 被吃到 100%，系統負載很低。

以三個連線進行 annotate，load average 介於 0.x - 2.x 之間，以 top 看則有三顆 cpu 被吃滿，系統負載一樣低。

由這樣的狀況來看，推測如下：

透過 viewvc 進行 annotate 所造成的問題同樣存在。
因為 multiple core 的關係，一個 annotate 動作會佔用了一顆 cpu，避免所有資源被佔用。
如果同時有 8 個 annotate 被啟動，系統勢必變成高負載狀況，後果會如何?

結論: 繼續頭大中... orz

Convert nrg file to iso

There are 2 options on Debian/Linux:

nrg2iso
iat

I tried nrg2iso at first, it told me the nrg file is already in ISO9660 format and did not covert.

And I tried iat then that. It works fine!

$ iat image.nrg image.iso

Licensed under GPL v2 or later

Detect Signature ISO9660 START at 32768
Detect Signature ISO9660 END at 36864

Image offset start at 0

The outputed iso can be used with no wrong.

Memory based file system (ramdisk) on FreeBSD

To create a ramdisk for /tmp and detach it on FreeBSD 8

# /sbin/mdmfs -M -S -o async -s size md0 /tmp

Don't forget to chmod +w for read/write

# chmod +w /tmp

Detach it and delete from /dev/md0

# /sbin/mdconfig -d -u 0

Install Pidgin 2.6.4 from source on OpenBSD 4.6

At first, following content is just my experience to install a newer version from source, it may not works as well as you guys used on LINUX.

Do following steps:

You have to install following packages before you start to compile pidgin!

gmake
gstreamer
gnutls
libnss
python
cyrus-sasl2
tcl/tk
farsight

Well, a GTK based desktop environment is needed! (I use XFCE4, Gnome is the best!)
Download the source from Pidgin's official site
Extract the source
Run configure with parameters
# ./configure --disable-vv --disable-meanwhile --disable-nm --with-gnutls-includes=/usr/local/include --with-gnutls-libs=/usr/local/lib --with-tclconfig=/usr/local/lib/tcl8.5 --with-tkconfig=/usr/local/lib/tk8.4
Compile
# gmake
Install as root
# sudo gmake install

If all the procedures are work properly, you can just start pidgin and enjoy it on OpenBSD 4.6 now! :)

It will show following message repeat many times while disk accessing...

mpt0: QUEUE FULL EVENT: Bus 0x00 Target 0x00 Depth 128

It might not crash your system but still annoying though! The reason is the hard drive do not accept too much access in queue (That means it depends on hard drive factory setting)!

Okay, you can check its default setting with following commands...

# camcontrol tag da0
(pass0:mpt0:0:0:0): device openings: 255

You should set its tags lower than the error shows.

# camcontrol tag da0 -N 127
(pass0:mpt0:0:0:0): device openings: 127

After that, you can test it with find...

# cd /
# find . -name="sudo"

And track your log file

# tail -f /var/log/messages

You won't see annoying warnings anymore if the setting works, or you have to set again with lower depth value.

在進行安裝時，你會看到這樣的錯誤訊息:

"無法安裝：安裝程式無法安裝軟體，因為找不到軟體來進行安裝"

然後，就被迫結束安裝。

經過爬文後的結果得到下列兩個結論:

安裝前，系統預設語系改為英文語系
安裝時，採用自訂安裝，把挪威文檢查工具取消選取

目前確定改變語系是可行的方法。

Create a conf file for i2o_core in /etc/modprob.d
Edit its content with 'blacklist i2o_core' and then save it
run 'depmod -ae' as root
run 'update-initramfs -u' to re-create initrd

After rebooting, you won't see i2o_core via 'lsmod'.

Problem

Installation failed message will show while installing Grub as boot loader.

Solution

Do not stop your installation!! And try following steps to install boot loader during installation:

Enter another console with short cut: alt + Fn
Press enter to enable console
> chroot /target
> aptitude
update packages db
install grub
exit aptitude
> /usr/sbin/grub-install /dev/i2o/hda
> update-grub
> exit
continue to finish others steps with "continue without boot loader" option

If its failed after above steps, that might be some steps wrong while you processing it. Don't worry! You will see Grub prompt after reboot, and try following steps:

grub> root (hd0,0)
grub> setup (hd0)   <-- If you did not install grub correctly at last time, you have to do it
grub> kernel /vmlinuz root=/dev/i2o/hda1 ro
grub> initrd /initrd.img
grub> boot

Then, you will boot into your system now.

Caution!! It's not the end! You have to do following steps again to fix your problem exactly.

> grub-install /dev/i2o/hda
> update-grub <--- VERY IMPORTANT! Don't forget to do it! Or you will have to repeat all steps again!

After that your system can boot next time correctly. Congratulations!

Difference of 3Com 3C905 series NIC

這是之前遇到的狀況，因為當時還沒把網卡拍照存證，故現在補遺一下。

這是在前公司 (凱 x) 架設防火牆時發生的狀況。由於公司成立初期，百廢待舉，因此，也就以 PC + OpenBSD 來架設 firewall 以確保網路安全，也順便達到網段控管的目的。

一開始由於資源有限，因此，就以幾張 Realtek 8139 series 10/100 的網卡先頂著。但，有感於該網卡的耐受度和穩定度有限，因此，透過老闆的關係去找來幾張還不錯的 10/100 的網卡來用，以承受持續且較大的流量。

記得還在唸書時 (1996)，3Com 的 3C905 series 是當時的一時之選，因此，當時的 server 上這張卡是很常見的。如下面兩張圖:

或許是時代的變遷，網路大興的影響，這個時期的網卡所使用的網路晶片已經不敷現時的需求了，因為流量已經不可同日而語了!

也因為如此，那陣子常會發生網路斷線。經過測試的結果發現那張卡到一定程度的流量就會掛點，唯一的辦法就是重開機。而它的耐受度比時下的 Realtek 8139 series 網卡還糟糕。上班時間總會給你斷個 1-2 次，主管都不得不來關切了。 =_="

在資源有限，問題無限的情況下，又苦於找不到 Intel 的 PRO/100 i8255x series 的時候，我無意間發現到下面這張卡 - 3Com 3C905C-TXM。

3C905C-TXM

經過仔細比較發現，這張卡所使用的網路晶片有別於較舊的兩款。3C905C-TXM 所使用的是 BROADCOM 5904 的網路晶片，而 3C905-TX 和 3C905B-TX 則是採用 LUCENT 40-03364 和 40-04834 的晶片。

經實際試用結果，不再有之前斷線的問題。連續使用一週後，系統也是相當的順暢。所以，就把所有的舊系列的網卡都用找來的 3C905C-TXM 替換掉了!

四月四日是全國小朋友最高興的日子，我想也是我兒子最開心的日子，因為這是他的生日! 超級特別的日子! 在家過完農曆生日後，便移師到外公、外婆家過國曆生日。舅舅們和阿姨們也送了小鬼頭喜歡的禮物：電動哈雷機車和帥氣 PUMA 球鞋!

小鬼頭昨天很 high，很晚睡。但今天的他顯得很開心，很有精神! 好像聽得懂大人們在說什麼似的，也會指揮抱著他的大人們去他想去的方向，雖然他現在還在牙牙學語的初期。更令人驚喜的是，小鬼頭自己會站起來，而且走了三步才坐下去! 他開心的向我們展示，可愛的樣子，讓爸爸、媽媽好不開心啊! 感覺他又瞬間長大了不少!

上網去 google 爬了一下文，有人提到這是硬體的問題。因此，今天進來換了一張卡也順便換一個插槽後，就沒有再出現這樣的訊息，且所有的問題就都解決了。

Safari 4 Beta vs. Camino 2 Beta

日前 Apple 公佈了 Safari 4 Beta 給大家試用，我也去下載了! Apple 很貼心，會自動偵測你的 OS，然後 show 出對應可用的版本。(掌聲給 Apple 鼓勵一下)

Safari 4 Beta 幾個明顯的改變：

Top sites。這應該是抄襲 Google Chrome 的 idea，但介面則是濃濃的蘋果風!
Cover flow 檢視。可採用 iTune style 的檢視方式來瀏覽曾經造訪過的網頁內容。
Title 與 tab 的整合。這點也算是抄襲 Google Chrome 的 idea，但介面上自成一格，感覺比 Google Chrome 優!
執行效能提昇。速度快這點，一直是 Safari 的特色。只要 (在 Mac OS X 上) 用過的人都會這麼覺得! 這次的新版用起來感覺的確不假。

根據一些評測的資料顯示，Safari 4 Beta 的效能及速度均優於其它幾款 browsers (IE 7/8, Firefox, Opera, etc)。這也是讓我想試用的原因。

什麼是 Camino? 簡單說 Camino 是 Gecko engine with native Cocoa code，是 Mozilla project 之一。當然，我也是 Camino 的愛用者。

下載並安裝 Safari 4 Beta 後，我完全改用 Safari 4 Beta，把所有會在 Camino 2 Beta 上使用的習慣都用在 Safari 4 Beta 上，讓自己真的去深入試用。

而經過了一陣子的試用後，我發現若以 Safari 4 Beta 和 Camino 2 Beta 來瀏覽操作 Facebook 時，就很明顯的感覺到 Safari 4 Beta 較 Camino 2 Beta 遜色，Page loading 的流暢度明顯較差。尤其是在 load 圖時，Safari 4 Beta 常會有圖下載不完全的狀況發生，Camino 2 Beta 則沒有這個問題。而在使用 gmail 時，也明顯感覺 Safari 4 Beta 並沒有比較快! (Javascript 處理問題?)

以上僅為個人心得之記錄。正確的狀況為何? 則有待專門評測的單位來測試比較了。

自製蝦仁煎、蚵仔煎及蛋煎

作法算是相當簡單的食物。

材料 (一份):

蚵仔煎專用之調理粉 (外面有賣調配好的，成份是太白粉 + 樹薯粉)
蛋 * 1
小白菜 (或茼蒿) 一小撮
明蝦 * 2 (蚵仔煎則改為蚵仔數顆)
醬汁 (辣椒醬、砂糖、蕃茄醬、蠔油，依口味喜好攪拌)

作法:

適量調理粉加水攪拌均勻，芶芡汁不可過於濃稠。
小白菜洗乾淨並切斷。
明蝦去殼並切成三段。
放入少許油於鍋中並使其稍微擴散。
將準備好的明蝦放入並稍加分散。
淋上芶芡汁，請注意範圍不要太大，後續會不好處理。
打上蛋汁，建議將蛋黃弄破。
在蛋汁未熟前將小白菜放上去，再淋上些許芶芡汁。
煎煮一陣子，看看芶芡凝結的邊邊是否有熟，熟了就可以翻面。
待兩面均已熟了即可裝盤，淋上醬汁後，即是一道可口的蝦仁煎。

蚵仔煎則參照以上作法，只是將蝦仁成鮮蚵仔即可。至於蛋煎，顧名思義就是不放蝦仁或鮮蚵仔就是了! XD

PS. 建議以平底鍋煎煮效果最好。

Review of 2008

過去的一年裡，對我來說算是人生中極有特殊意義的一年。為什麼?

初為人父，小朋友到來的那天，我經歷了相當大的起與落
一度失業，只覺得倒楣
再度失業，但這次有被騙的感覺
"家家有本難唸的" 經，修鍊中，進度極緩慢
很多技術面的東西似乎有融會貫通，更上一層的感覺

對於家庭，我的心得是 "用心"。很多事都是生平頭一遭，初面對時的甘苦，只能意會不能言傳。所以，只能用心體會、用心感受並且用心經營。這種事不是三言兩語就能打發的，我只能拼命的吸收日 (前人的經驗) 月 (旁觀者的看法) 精華，期待自己更茁壯，更有智慧去處理可能面對的任何狀況。

對於工作，我的心得是 "需要再磨鍊"。技術當然需要磨鍊，所謂 "工欲善其事，必先利其器"，這是一定要的。我更需要的是 -- "人" 的磨鍊。雖然我的個人特質強烈的顯示，我不適合接觸 "人" 的工作，但，看來是免不了的。

去年的一年，我算是經歷了很大的轉折，小朋友帶來了很大的轉變。和以往比起來，觀念、家庭、工作上都有很大的差異。當然，外型也有些許變化，例如，變 "中廣" 了，白頭髮增加了，...。

總而言之，喜樂參半。

發表本篇的同時，再轉頭看看熟睡的內子與兒子，心中的感覺已不可同日而語了。

終於有時間可以把這部電影 -- 海角七號，從頭到尾完整的看過一次。

內人看過至少二次，常在面前稱讚這部電影，叫我一定要看。可是，我總不知道自己到底在忙些什麼，忙得連抽個空看部電影的時間都沒有。這好像不是我想要的生活 (題外話)。

這部電影沒幾個大咖，除了男主角之外，男主角的媽 ("親戚別計較" 裡的 "洪茶" 啦!) 還算聽過。現在認識張魁和趙舜的也不多了。通告咖 -- 佩甄的演出倒是令人覺得新鮮。民雄，還沒機會聽過他的歌。林曉培，心動之後就沒什麼大作了。梁文音，嗯，星光幫的。水雞，沒聽我老婆說，我還不知道他就是前夾子大樂隊的主唱咧! 至於其他人就真的 "莫宰羊" 了... 喔，對了，主席身邊那個小囉嘍倒是七點檔閩南語連續劇的常客。

整部戲以一份晚了 60 年的信將兩個不太相干的故事串在一起。男主角經典的一句粗話開始進入這部戲的主軸，把鏡頭從現代化的台北拉到極富鄉土味、人口外移嚴重的恆春。地點大概是這兩個故事最主要的連接點。

這部戲寫實的呈現出南部的純樸及率真。雖然片中出現不少粗話，但，我個人認為那相當的接近真實的生活 (ps. 公播版應該是消音或剪掉了)。而 60 年前的故事則以感性的口吻舖陳，以寫信者的角度將心中的事娓娓道出，直到最後重現當年離別的情景。

整部片是令人感動的，雖然中間有不少趣味的片段，令人捧腹。而且，片中其實包含了不少的隱喻，例如，年青人口外移嚴重的問題。至於其它的，就靠各位自行體會了。

值得一提的是，在這部戲裡藉由原住民的飾品和小米酒來宣傳原住民朋友的藝術文化產業，"千年文化，全新感受"，這是前所未見的。

你問我會不會想再看一次? 是的，我會。

Office 2008 for Mac can not start up after installed

在裝完 Office 2008 後，如果發生一直跳出要不要參加使用者使用狀況收集的計畫及註冊時，那表示你在安裝時所輸入的序號是不正確的。

解法如下：

刪除 ˜/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist
刪除 /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
重新輸入正確的序號

如此應可解決問題，開始享用 Office 2008 for Mac!

開啟 notepad 來編輯如下內容:

並存成 shutdown.bat 並存放在指定的位置。
在開始 --> 程式集 --> 附屬應用程式 --> 安排的工作來新增一項排程工作。
點選 "安排的工作" > 下一步 > 選取應用程式，請指定 shutdown.bat > 輸入工作名稱並指定工作的執行方式 > 指定開始時間及開始日期 > 完成。
檢視該工作設定的內容> 切換至 "設定" 分頁> 請將 "電源管理" 區塊中的前兩項取消並勾選第三項 > 確定。

另外，參數的說明如下：

0-登出
1 關機
2 REBOOT
4 FORCE
8 POWEROFF

可依照需求更改參數，以達成目的。

自製義大利辣味肉醬麵

在做高纖營養三明治的當天中午，我們吃的就是這個，下述的內容約可做出 4-5 人份。

材料:

義大利麵醬 * 2 瓶
新東陽辣味肉醬 * 1 罐
杏鮑菇 * 3 - 4 根
洋蔥 * 1-2 顆
奶油少許
義大利麵 * 2 包

做法:

將麵煮軟備用。注意! 煮麵很費時，請提早準備。
將洋蔥、杏鮑菇切小塊。
在平底鍋中用奶油將已切小塊的洋蔥、杏鮑菇炒香。
炒出香味後，即可加入新東陽肉醬、義大利麵醬及 1-2 碗水(請酌量)，以小火燜煮。請勿煮到太稠。
加麵拌炒均勻即完成。

Scheduled shutdown on Windows 2003 server

由於最近經常碰到停電的狀況，因此有了這樣的需求，特別花了時間去試了一下。

作法如下：

1. 開啟 "記事本"，輸入如下的內容並存成 shutdown.bat。當然，請將它存在你設定的路徑下。

shutdown.exe -s

2. 開啟 "附屬應用程式" > "系統工具" > "排定的工作"。

3. 點選 "新增排定的工作" > 下一步 > 選取應用程式，請指定 shutdown.bat > 輸入工作名稱並指定工作的執行方式 > 指定開始時間及開始日期 > 輸入使用者名稱及其密碼，請輸入管理者的帳號和密碼 > 完成。

4. 檢視該工作設定的內容 > 切換至 "設定" 分頁 > 請將 "電源管理" 區塊中的前兩項取消並勾選第三項 > 確定。

5. 登出系統。

照著以上的步驟，就可以正確的完成設定並讓系統在指定時間條件下進行關機。請注意第 4 點的紅字部份若未照做，系統就沒辦法在登出後正確關機！

同理，若想要做定時重新開機，也可如法炮製，變更工作執行的方式即可達成目的。

高纖營養三明治

時間: 2008/9/20 早上

今天起了個大早跟內人開心的將昨天事先買好的材料一一陳列在餐桌上，兩個人便開始七手八腳的參考網路上的食譜做高纖營養三明治。材料如下：

小黃瓜一條，剉成絲，以少許的白砂糖攪拌均勻，目的在增加口感
蕃茄二顆，切片
沙拉或美奶滋 (我們這次是準備低熱量的美奶滋)
蕃茄醬
胡椒粉
蛋 4 顆，煎成荷包蛋
火腿半條
全麥吐司半條

以上之材料約可做出四人份的三明治。製作步驟如下：

1. 煎荷包蛋
2. 將小黃瓜剉絲
3. 蕃茄切片
4. 火腿切片
5. 放上第一片吐司
6. 放蕃茄片，適量
7. 放火腿片，適量
8. 淋上適量的美奶滋
9. 蓋上第二片吐司
10. 舖上一層小黃瓜絲
11. 淋上適量的蕃茄醬
12. 放一份荷包蛋
13. 撒上適量的胡椒粉
14. 蓋上第三片吐司

如此即完成美味爽口的高纖營養三明治! 份量大但熱量低! 真的很讚!! 可惜的是忘了拍一下完成品的照片，就通通下肚了! =.="

這真的是很讚!

透過 iCal 所提供的 CalDAV 功能，我們就可以輕鬆的讓 iCal 跟 Google Calendar 同步了! 詳細請看轉載自 Google 網站的說明。

經過試用的結果，令人相當滿意! 除了自動同步線上的資料外，我也可以在 iCal 裡針對特定的行事曆去新增事件，新增完畢後 iCal 會自動幫你 update 到你的 Google Calendar 裡。當然也包含你的朋友 share 給你的行事曆!!

smcFanControl: system utility of MAC

smcFanControl 算是一個蠻不錯用的系統小工具! 你可以藉由它來控制系統內的風扇轉速。

在 MAC 出機時, 預設的轉速都在 2000 rpm 左右; 這樣的情況下, 風扇的聲音幾乎是聽不到, 但散熱的效果就變得比較有限。

以我的 MBP (C2D 2.2G) 來說, 預設的轉速下, 系統平均溫度都在 51 - 55 度上下, 一旦系統負載提高或執行需 CPU 運算的程式, 溫度就很容易衝上去! 當然, 居高不下的狀況下, 最後的結果就是熱當... :(

利用 smcFanControl 將轉速設至 4000 rpm 時, 系統平均溫度都在 37 - 43 度左右, 平常摸起來都燙燙的出風口, 幾乎都感覺不到熱度! 經過使用一陣子後, 大概設在 3500 rpm 左右, 系統的溫度大概都維持在 43 - 48 度左右。這算是很一般的溫度, 出風口也不會燙。

至於, 為什麼我會設在 3500 rpm? 是因為經過爬文的結果加上個人的推測, 預設 2000 rpm 並不是沒有道理。經常維持在高轉速的情況下, 系統風扇可能因此降低使用時限! 所以, 不建議調太高!

Colocation with MAC mini

偶然間在蘋果台灣官網上發現的有趣連結:

第一個直覺反應是太屌了! XD

而且, 仔細一看它還提供 Time Capsule Colocation 呢! 主機代管加備份代管, 算是大致完備的 colocation 機制了!

是說, 用 MAC mini 來當中小型的 server 是綽綽有餘了... :D

Camino 中文內容顯示不正確的問題

在 google 爬了一下文之後, 在 Camino 的論壇裡找到答案了。

原因是 Camino 預設的中文對應字型是有問題的, 所以, 必須自行變更中文設定, 這樣中文內容就能正確顯示了!

[Preferences] -> [Appearence] -> [Fonts] -> [Choose fonts for "Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)"], 然後指定在系統內可以找到的中文字型。如果沒有成功, 就把下面的 Always use my fonts 選項勾起來, 這樣就可以了。

這個問題在 Camino 2.0 的版本應該就不存在了。

BTW, 在 Firefox 應該也是相同的問題。

Snow Leopard

Apple 的 MAC OS X 10.6 正式命名為 Snow Leopard 了! That sounds Cool!

這個版本的重點在於效能大幅的提昇, 有別於前一版的增加功能, 這點就令我相當的期待!! 另一點爆點是它最大可以支援到 16 TB 的記憶體! 超屌!!

此外, 還有其它幾點如下:

1. 改用 QuickTime X
2. 支援 Microsoft Exchange 2007
3. 加入多核心架構 Grand Central
4. 支援 Open Computing Language

等等...

BTW, 屆時還有沒有支援 PPC 架構就不得而知了!

立法通過高中女生可以請產假

以下言論純屬個人意見, 無意冒犯!

幾天前, 從內人口中得知準備立法讓高中女生可以請產假; 幾天後, 無意間聽到該立法案已經通過了... 心裡的第一個反應是 "怎麼會有這種事"?

或許它的立意是保障未婚懷孕的高中女生, 但它卻隱含了鼓勵未婚懷孕的意義! 另, 試想, 產假大約是一個月左右 (生產 + 坐月子), 一個學期就少了三分之一, 該名女學生的課業要如何接續?

政府應該是採取積極的觀念建立而非只是消極的立法保障, 這樣做並不會減少未婚懷孕的發生率啊! 真的是本末倒置了!

新手老爸報到

天氣: 晴

這天是個重要的日子! 在經歷過十幾個小時的等待, 漫長的孕期就要接近尾聲了!

下午四點, 老婆開始陣痛。

約五六分鐘後, 產房所有的護士全部圍在待產床, 我只能著急的從護士背後一探究竟, 因為發生胎兒窘迫的緊急狀況, 我只能在旁邊乾著急!

經過一番搶救 (一分鐘之內), 寶寶恢復心跳了。接著, 我被其中一個護士拉去旁邊簽手術同意書, 麻醉同意書, 另一個護士緊急聯絡醫生準備接生, 老婆則是被突如其來的一切嚇到哭了! 當我看到老婆被扶進開刀房, 回頭用哭紅的眼睛無助的望著我時, 我真的是心好痛! orz

從出狀況到到進開刀房整個過程大概在四到五分鐘內發生, 又快又突然! 之後的三十分鐘, 我只能在休息室裡著急的踱步。三十分鐘後, 聽到寶寶洪亮的哭聲, 寶寶從開刀房裡被抱出來, 全身紅通通的, 拼命的大哭, 心裡頓時輕鬆一些!

十分鐘之後, 老婆就被推出來在待產房裡恢復。看到她哭紅的雙眼, 疲累的表情, 加上術後麻醉未退的不自然抽搐, 讓我不禁紅了眼眶。

老婆, 妳辛苦了!

在不到一小時的期間, 我的心情就好像做大怒神一樣, 咻地降到谷底! 真的是太刺激了!!或許這就是當爸爸前的考驗吧! 提醒我肩上要扛的責任加重了!
